Name: Danielle Houston, Rm. 115
Major: Science Pre-Professional, Spanish Supplementary Hometown: Fontana, CA Contact her: dhousto1@nd.edu Hello, hello WILD women! My name is Danielle and I am from southern California, about an hour east of LA. I am the middle child of three girls and consider my sisters to be some of my best friends. I spent Fall 2019 in Puebla, Mexico with some really good friends and a host mom who is the best cook in all of Mexico (this is my completely unbiased opinion). I have gotten to know Walsh and its women in a variety of different ways whether that be as a mail clerk, Soul Sister co-commissioner, a speaker for the overnight, or one of the birthday commissioners. Probably the most important thing that you need to know about me is that I am the self-declared queen of remembering birthdays. So, if I randomly remember your birthday in conversation, please don’t get freaked out! Outside of Walsh, I also spend a lot of time co-leading a women’s interdenominational faith group on campus, Delight, which has been one of the highlights of my time here. I am excited to navigate the world of college with all of you and appreciate you guys allowing me to accompany you on your journeys. Together we’ll be WILD for life. See you soon, friends! |
Name: Theresa Eckel, Rm. 215
Major: Political Science and Philosophy Hometown: Rochester, MN Contact her: teckel@nd.edu Hi Wild Women! My name is Theresa and I am a political science and philosophy double major with a minor in Catholic social tradition. I have three siblings, a golden retriever named Sandy, and a black cat named Cheeto. I spent Fall 2019 in Dublin, Ireland, where I lived in a dorm with two wonderful Irish roomies, learned about Irish history and culture, and perfected my Irish accent, which somehow still does not exist. When I’m not chatting, I can usually be found spending all my flexpoints at Starbucks. But outside of my two main hobbies (chatting and coffee), I have served as chair and commissioner of various committees in Walsh Hall Council, a mentor for College Mentors for Kids, an SSLP student leader, and an “athlete” in the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) for hurling and gaelic football. Just waiting for that full-ride athletic scholarship to roll in! I have also worked at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies for the past three years. I love running (not too far though!), rom-coms, super funny memes, and spending time with my WILD women! I am so excited to share life with you all as an RA this year! Stop by my room anytime! |
Name: Alyssa LaBella, Rm 315
Hometown: Oak Lawn, IL Major: Biochemistry Contact her: alabella@nd.edu Hey Wild Women! My name is Alyssa and I am a Biochemistry major from the Southside of Chicago. After graduation, I plan on attending graduate school to study microbiology with dreams of being a medical researcher. I have a younger brother and two fur-siblings (Anuschka and Patton, giant & gorgeous German Shepherds). In Walsh Hall, I have had the privilege of being a Welcome Weekend Ambassador and a Welcome Weekend Captain in addition to being an active member of hall council. When I am not spending time in the best dorm on campus, I can be found in my research lab passionately studying catheter-associated urinary tract infections. #scienceiscool. I am a big fan of lemonade, true-crime documentaries, lengthy naps, guacamole, and all things Walsh Hall. I am beyond excited to be an RA this year and to be able to spend all my free time with the WILDest women on campus! |
Name: Zahara Kagalwalla, Rm 413
Major: Business Analytics Hometown: Mumbai, India Contact her: zkagalw1@nd.edu A big hello to my fabulous Walshies! My name is Zahara Kagalwalla, and I hail from the city of dreams, Mumbai, India. At Notre Dame, I study Business Analytics with a minor in Gender Studies. I am your classic Mendoza girl with a twist. I thrive on SIBC projects, but you can also find me shaking a leg at International formal or dispensing hot chocolate on chilly days with the Kind Club. I am a big fan of leisurely night strolls around the lake and lazy evenings spent in with a cuppa and some Indian drama for entertainment value. At Walsh, you are most likely to find me sprawled in one of the lounges chattering away or convincing an unsuspecting soul to try one of the teas from my ultimate curation. I was missing from action this Spring since I was away in London, feasting on the delicacies offered by quaint street food stalls, but I absolutely cannot wait to get back to campus and spend time with you incredible WILD women! |
