COLEMAN-MORSE CENTER
This building is located right outside the back doors of Walsh. There are study lounges that are always open late (Sunday through Thursday open until 4:00am and Friday and Saturday open until midnight). There is a 24 hour computer cluster with printers on the north (closest to Walsh) side of the building. The second floor is home to the First Year of Studies offices. This is where each of you will meet with your freshman advisors. Coleman-Morse also houses a few classrooms and Campus Ministry offices.
OFFICE OF STUDENT ENRICHMENT
We know the financial and emotional burden of higher education is felt differently by different populations. By offering personal support, social enrichment, and growth opportunities for high-achieving and under-resourced students, the Office of Student Enrichment hopes to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for each student to reach their full potential. Programs address students' academic, social, and professional development needs, and address topics like peer mentoring, financial literacy tools and training, career discernment and resources, helping student navigate Notre Dame and college life, and networking at Notre Dame and beyond.
HESBURGH LIBRARY
Notre Dame has an awesome library. It is home to hundreds of thousands of books as well as the famous Touchdown Jesus. The periodicals and reference materials can be found on the first floor along with some study areas. The book check out desk and self-checkout center are also on the first floor. If you ever have any questions, the information desk is extremely helpful. The basement holds a large study lounge as well as more reference books and a microfilm station. The second floor has a computer lab, large study tables, personal study cubicles, and an audio/video center where you can view a film from the libraries extensive collection. The more serious studying takes place on the third through the thirteenth floors because it tends to be quieter than the lower floors. The library has wireless internet, copy machines, and small study rooms with tables and chalkboards for student use.
REPORTING: SPEAK UP
The University encourages students, faculty, and staff to report all incidents of bias, discrimination, and/or harassment so that the University can take appropriate action to assist the students, faculty and/or staff involved and improve the campus climate. The course of action taken by the University will depend on the facts and circumstances of each report. The information you submit will be reviewed by a Notre Dame administrator within two University business days (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.). Information provided through Speak Up is not anonymous.
TIMELYCARE
TimelyCare is a mobile app that provides free virtual medical services to students 24/7. It's a great first step and even alternative to Urgent Care. And if the TimelyCare providers recommend an in-person visit to a clinic, University Health Services is just a short walk from Walsh!
St. LIAM'S HEALTH CENTER (aka University Health Services or UHS)
Saint Liam’s, the Health Service building, is located behind the Golden Dome, about a five minute walk from Walsh. Students can make an appointment to be seen at University Health Services by either calling (574) 631-7497 or scheduling online. UHS does not take walk-ins. Providers are available to see students between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (9am-5pm on Thursdays). Students are not charged to see a provider for an illness or injury. Information regarding other medical fees can be found here. The pharmacy can fill any medical prescriptions--click here to see their times.
UNIVERSITY COUNSELING CENTER (UCC)
The UCC provides free, confidential counseling services to students to explore a wide variety of issues and concerns. Visit their website ucc.nd.edu for a full list of services and see their updated hours. Their office is located on the third floor of St. Liam's Hall. To speak to a counselor after hours, call their 24-hour talkline (574) 631-TALK(8255).
POST OFFICE
The post office is in Hammes Mowbray Hall. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 9:30am to noon. The Hammes Mowbray Hall is located on the outskirts of campus, just past North Dining Hall, and about a fifteen minute walk from Walsh. You will be receiving most of your mail in the dorm mailroom, but if you want to mail packages, then you will have to go to the post office.
ST. MICHAEL'S LAUNDRY SERVICE
If you don’t know how to do your own laundry or don’t have enough time, there is an on-campus alternative to letting your dirty clothes stink up the closet. St. Michael’s Laundry Service will pick it up from Walsh, clean it, and return it to your dorm. Dry cleaning is also provided.
PRINTERS
Each student gets a printing quota at the computer clusters across campus. It is possible to use all of the quota before the year is over. In this case you can either add money to your print quota or sometimes professors will add money for you if their class requires lots of printing… but you have to talk to them about it.
BANKS
1st Source Bank is located in the basement of LaFortune Student Center. There are also ATMs all over campus, including LaFortune and the library.
