One of the best parts of my experience at Notre Dame has been life in the community of Walsh Hall, from fun and engaging hall events, to random, friendly conversations in the hallways, to the great support network of friends, roommates, classmates, and hall staff that help each other through the challenges of college life. As an RA, I hope to continue to become a meaningful part of this community and also to offer a network of support for other younger and newer members of the Walsh community, so that they, too, can flourish and feel secure and welcomed within Walsh and at ND.”

Name: Casey Leimbach, Rm. 115
Biology + Theology | Hometown: Wantagh, NY cleimbac@nd.edu Hello Wild Women!! My name is Casey and I’m a junior Biological Sciences and Theology major. I’m from Wantagh, New York, which is on Long Island, so I’m very very passionate about New York pizza, bagels, and Dunkin Donuts coffee. On campus, I’ve lived in Walsh for the past three years and am so excited to continue to help build the community of love, inclusion, and so many snacks that has been my home here at ND. In Walsh, I’ve been involved in hall council serving as Spirit Chair, Spirit week commissioner, and dance commissioner (minus the actual dances). Around campus, I can be found in my lab researching cancer cells and their metabolism, rehearsing to be a tap dancing egg with PEMCo, helping with all things intro bio (Uplift mentoring, TA, tutoring, and SLC), and prepping for CSC seminar trips (I’m finally leading an Appalachia site next fall!) Other fun facts: I’m always fully spoiled and up to date on all things Bachelor nation, I can quote basically all of John Mulaney’s specials with about 97.6% accuracy, and I have never missed a single minute of every home football game since arriving at ND. Can’t wait to get started! Walsh love! |
"I see the RA position as being a role model for the community through serving others. I understand that this position is much more than a job, but rather a calling to be present for the residents, especially those who feel underrepresented within the community. An RA must foster an environment of love, acceptance, and accountability in the Residence Hall Community. The ability to serve others is something that I have always felt called to do, and I would be humbled and honored to serve in such a position.

Name: Danielle Corbin, Rm. 215
| Architecture | Jacksonville, FL | dcorbin@nd.edu Hey WILD Women! My name is Danielle Corbin and I am from Jacksonville, Florida, about 20 minutes away from the beach. Although I miss my family and the warm weather at home, I am lucky enough to have two older sisters who also attended Notre Dame. As an architecture major, I was supposed to spend the 2020-2021 academic year in Rome, but I am hopeful that I will be able to eat gelato in the streets of Italy soon! On campus, I am a Designer for the Shirt Project and a member of the traveling Club Tennis Team. When I’m not chatting, you can find me running around the lakes or riding around on my hot pink beach cruiser. Some of my favorite hobbies include long walks on the beach (finding shark’s teeth, of course!), hiking, painting, dancing, and singing in the shower. I will find any excuse to get caffeinated, so please reach out if you ever want to chat over a cup of coffee or tea! I cannot wait to spend all of my free time with you wonderful, WILD Women! |
“Ever since freshman year I’ve felt called to be an RA. I think communication is the foundation for any good relationship, and so establishing open lines of communication between residents and Hall Staff is key to everyone’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Hall Staff is meant to be a resource to the residents of the Hall, and I hope to create a community where residents feel comfortable.”

Name: Grace Scheidler, Rm 315
| American Studies + Economics | Lake Forest, IL gscheidl@nd.edu Hi everyone! My name is Grace Scheidler, and I’m so excited for the 2021-2022 school year. I’m an American Studies and Econ double major with a minor in the Glynn honors program. I have four younger siblings, and one of them is here at ND with me (he’s also a walk-on on the football team). During my time at ND, I’ve been involved in everything from dorm apparel design, Special Olympics ND, food share, and even a (short-lived!) flag football career. I’m also the President of the Holy Half Marathon Club here at ND and work as the social media coordinator for Campus Ministry. In my free time, I love working out, reading a good book or two, baking for my friends, and spending time on my foodstagram @graceliveswell (shameless plug). My guilty pleasure is TLC’s 90 Day Fiance franchise and my favorite thing in South Bend is Ritter’s peanut butter mountain sundae (with chocolate custard, of course). I cannot wait for next year! |
“I was inspired to apply for this role because of the past RAs that I have had. I decided that I wanted to be able to make that kind of a difference by being an RA myself. I believe that a Residence Hall Community requires inclusivity, trust, positivity, consistency, and faith. I will attempt to create an open environment in which everyone feels accepted, welcomed, and loved, regardless of differing backgrounds. I would also like this environment to recognize and celebrate those differences.”

Name: Bianca Burnett, Rm 413
| Psychology | Charlotte, NC | bburnet3@nd.edu Hello WILD Women! I’m the third of four daughters; my parents met as students here, and my older two sisters attended ND and SMC, so we are an ND/SMC family! I’m a dog lover, and have three fur babies at home. I’m forever wanting to share photos of them, so let me know if you need a puppy fix! I studied abroad in Rome in Fall 2019, where I spent my days walking along the cobblestone streets, gazing upon the beautiful attractions, and eating tons of gelato. I love all things music. I sing, play piano, and the ukulele—well, I’m working on the latter—so hit me up if you ever want to jam, harmonize, or share your own musical passions! This past year, I've worked in Professor Cumming’s Family Studies Lab, was involved in a campus Bible study, and served as a Student Senator. I also love chocolate, pop tarts, Criminal Minds, and Game Pigeon (challenge me in 8-ball if you dare)! I’m thrilled to be an RA and am so excited to get to know you! |
